Art has been a transformative force in my life, and technology has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. I believe that through my work, I can bring about similar transformative experiences for brands, businesses, and products.
My passion lies in being a problem solver, deciphering human behaviors, identifying untapped opportunities, envisioning a compelling future, inspiring others, and harnessing the power of design.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Favorite projects that serve the community.
First Fridays - Crossroads Arts District
I spearheaded, won and secured city funds to implement the first inclusive marketing plan for the First Fridays monthly gallery walks in the historic Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City in 2004. My strategy included a comprehensive map of the Crossroads arts galleries, it was developed and distributed at tourists kiosks throughout the city. The program received coverage in such major publications as Art World News; American Style; and National Geographic Traveler. First Fridays have become a celebrated city destination!
Arts Tourism
I negotiated the first-ever corporate membership for art galleries to VisitKC, Kansas City’s tourism and hospitality organization. A corporate membership allowed the small businesses to share in membership fees and be seen as an asset to the city and as destination for both residents and visitors.
KCVLAA
I established and co-founded the Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (KCVLAA) which provides free legal and accounting services for qualifying artists and arts organizations. Seeing a need in the creative community for legal and accounting services at the local level I created a strategic plan. Within a year the new organization was a success. I led and managed the community building, public relations and marketing of KCVLAA. I served as the Executive Director after my board service. The organization continues to serve the community.
